Furniture manufacturers earn more, but employment is less.

Comparing the results for the first quarter of 2013 to the same period of last year we can see, that employment decreased, while the average salary in furniture industry increased. A sold production is constant.

In the first quarter of this year the employment was 124,2 thousands, while in the same quarter of 2012 it was 127,8 thousand, so we can notice a decline. In the case of average gross salary it was an opposite situation –in the first quarter of this year it was 2724,21 PLN but in 2012 it was 2684, 49PLN.

There is an influence of building trade on situation in furniture industry. Weather conditions weren’t good for building trade. Works were delayed to April. We shouldn’t be surprised that sold furniture production value by the first quarter of 2013 was 6871,0 million PLN and it was on stable level in compare to the first quarter of 2012 ( 6882,2 million PLN) which in this case is a good result.
